Alongside the world of humans (who cares about them?), is the world of cats. But they’re not just any cats, they’re Super Cats. Cats with superpowers who take up roles of good and evil in the form of two secret agencies, the Super Cats and the Hit Cats.

In a classic narrative of good versus evil an extraordinary ordinary cat named Tagg sets out to save the day, but instead releases the evil of Maximus Fang on the worlds of cats and humans. In a race against time Tagg and the Super Cats set out to use their secret weapon to find Maximus and save the world.

Super Cats V Maximus Fang is a class binary tale of good versus evil and the underdog, sorry undercat, saving the day. No great nuanced messages here, just lots of action, accents and good fun. The writing by Gwyneth Rees was economical and easy to read. The illustrations by Becka Moor were a beautiful addition to the 22 page book. My ten year old was very unexcited to read it, but after one sitting was looking forward to it every day and spent extra time working out who was who in the illustrations.
