PRESS RELEASE: The delightful daytime concert series, Music in the Morning, returns to Wollongong Town Hall in February 2018, where each Music in the Morning concert springs open at 10am with a FREE* morning tea, where the audience can meet and mingle in a relaxed setting before the live music begins at 11am.

Don’t Shoot Me – I’m Still Only the Piano Player! Monday 26 February, 11am First up – a show to satisfy lovers of classical music and stand-up comedy alike! Pianist/comedian David Scheel is regarded as arguably the finest musical humorist in the world, thanks to his international hit show, Don’t Shoot Me, I’m Only the Piano Player, which toured here in 2015! Now David is back with the long awaited sequel! This is a wonderful blend of piano and comedy, full of new material, all delivered in an amazing range of comic voices and accents. Expect hilarious – and true – stories of music’s greatest eccentrics, from Bach and Beethoven, right up to Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber!

The Pirates of Penzance Monday 19 March, 11am The PIRATES come to Wollongong in 2018 for their 21st Anniversary tour! This fast paced and beautifully sung production tours with a great cast and marvellous costumes. It is the complete production…BUT beware, it will contain NUTS and Donald Trump additives! The stellar cast is led by musical theatre star Philip Gould as the swashbuckling Pirate King, Veteran Comic Baritone Brian Hannan as The Major General and The Police Sergeant, International Soprano Alison Jones as Mabel, Opera Australia Mezzo Soprano Caroline Vercoe as Ruth, Chris McKenna as Frederic and Dominic Woodhead as the Musical Director on Piano. Enjoy a true family musical comedy with The Pirates clashing swords and trading Barbs with a modern take.

A Fine Romance: The Magic of Fred Astaire Monday 30 April, 11am An all singing, all dancing tribute to the man who went on to become the most famous dancer of all time. A Fine Romance will take you on a journey from Fred’s humble beginnings on Broadway, all the way to his Hollywood days and on screen romances with his many leading ladies, including Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn, Rita Hayworth and of course Ginger Rogers. A show with a big heart, capturing the story of a dancing legend and an all-round entertainer who was and still is, adored by millions of fans around the world. With beautiful costumes, plenty of glitz, extraordinary dancing and of course, the timeless music of Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, and the Gershwins. Written by Margaret Fisk; Directed and Choreographed by Jeremy Hinman; Musical Arrangements by Shanon Whitelock; Starring Joe Meldrum, Imogen Moore and Ben Taylor.

Frankly Sinatra: A Tribute to Ol’ Blue Eyes…. Monday 18 June, 11am A frankly fabulous tribute to one of the most popular and influential artists of the 20th Century. The talented Australian music theatre star Philip Gould and award winning singer/actress Michelle Fitzmaurice team up to sing and dance their way through 22 hits of the adored Frank Sinatra! Charming classics including My Way, Three Coins in a Fountain, Fly Me to the Moon and High Hopes to name but a few! The performance will follow a skilfully written narration of Frank Sinatra’s fascinating life story with a big screen backdrop showcasing wonderful stills from his incredible life. Hits from the wonderfully talented women in Franks’ life including Nancy Sinatra, Liza Minelli, Judy Garland will highlight this production!

Individual show tickets are only $27 per person or $24 per person for groups of eight or more.
