RECORDS, REGGAE, AND WORLD MUSIC WONDERS:
CASULA REVEAL OCTOBER MUSIC EVENTS

Music fanatics are spoilt for choice this October at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, with the famous portable party sound system, the Inner West Reggae Disco Machine, making its Western Sydney debut at Records and Reggae alongside a sprawling record fair (15 Oct.), plus triple ARIA award-winning oud virtuoso Joseph Tawadros returning in trio format (28 Oct.).

“The great music events just keep coming! We’re thrilled to have the Inner West Reggae Disco Machine bring their unique portable party to the people of Casula, alongside a huge record fair for the crate diggers and dusty-fingered among us,” said CPAC Director Craig Donarski.

“We can still feel the buzz in the air from Joseph Tawadros’ first Casula concert in August, and this time he’ll be joined by Matt McMahon, one of Australia’s finest jazz pianists, plus his brilliant brother James Tawadros on Egyptian percussion,” he said.

“Casula Powerhouse continues to play an important role in fostering music and culture in the local area. The region is made up of a vibrant cross-section of cultures that are represented in the diverse range of excellent shows on offer,” said Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller.

Presented with 2SER 107.3, FREE event Records and Reggae will be a family-friendly day of pumping tunes, with a crew of reggae fanatics spinning everything from ska to dancehall on the Inner West Reggae Disco Machine. The CPAC gallery spaces will also host an expansive record fair, with enough hidden gems and rare wax to keep vinyl vultures digging for hours.

One of the worlds leading performers of the oud, Joseph Tawadros is back to stun audiences with another jaw-dropping performance. Joined by Australian jazz piano legend Matt McMahon and his brother James on Egyptian percussion, Joseph’s vibrant blending of mesmerizing oud-playing and hilarious banter will leave the audience spellbound one moment and laughing out loud the next.
